This past Sunday, I had my very first wedding shower! The girls in my Sunday school class threw it for me so it was super small and perfect! A private room was booked at DeAngelo's Pizzaria so we pigged out and opened presents! I am thankful the first one was small because I HATE being the center of attention!! Im normally use to getting excited about television shows, chaco tan lines, and new races.... now I have to get excited about plates, lamps, and trashcans! 

The favorite part to me about showers are all the people that come together to celebrate you and lavish love on you! It's neat to see how people support you and the covenant you and your fiance' are about to make to glorify Christ!!

1.  Today is a great day because,   I get to lay out! 

2.   Tomorrow I will  work at a Human Trafficking gala! 

3.  My favorite time of day is     9:00-10:00 am       because     the weather is perfect outside during spring/summer. Coffee is a plus too!

BR Swag

Im pretty sure I have sat down to try to write a blog a gillion times but got overwhelmed because I feel like there is so much I need to update you guys on! 

School is almost over and my last day of internship is Wednesday!! Grad school has really flown by and I wouldn't exactly say I have enjoyed every minute of it, but as of March it has gotten WAY better! Seriously, over Easter break I actually WANTED to come back! Shocking, I know. I am a little sad that the BR joy came so last minute! 

Here are some things I have done:

Cirque Du Soleil with my roomies

I kind of felt like I was trippin' on acid during the whole thing

Mardi Gras with my roomies. We caught an unnecessary amount of beads

Cute friends came to visit me in BR

Made new friends

worked on my Chaco Tan

Registered for household items with my boo!

Played with this little squirt!

Celebrated my little Big sisters birthday!

ate PLENTY of yummy crawfish!

  I have seen TONS of beautiful sunsets!

crossed something off my bucket list

went to New Orleans for the first time!

Yesterday I completed my FINAL paper of my grad school career which was such an amazing feeling and Tuesday I completed my last grad school presentation! I have also done TONS of wedding planning! I got my dress, i've had a lot of craft time, the girls got their dresses, the boys have their ensembles, and all of our fabric has come in the mail! 

Even through all the bad stuff and missing home, I wouldn't trade the past nine months for anything! Of course it would have been ideal for the entire nine months to be like the last 2 months, but it wasn't. Still. wouldn't. change. it.

I am thankful I had my roomies, my boo, my pals, and my family to help me survive!

Confession: I was going to blog at the beginning of the week but I saw everyone was doing recap of the year post via photos... frankly, I was too lazy. 

Christmas break has been WONDERFUL! Seriously, I have done nothing... well i've wedding planned a little and I went to Atlanta. I've run a total of like 6 times (don't judge me) post half-marathon life. 

However, during break... Ink happened

It celebrates finishing and working so hard for the half. It was a BIG deal to me. Also, being MORE than a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37) And no the half and the verse are not related.

13.1 baby

Saturday I completed my first ever half marathon! It was so much fun and I'm looking forward to another one! The course was relatively easy with a few killer hills. Mentally it was super hard but I wouldn't trade it. It was one of the first things I have ever worked so hard for just because I wanted too! #accomplished Mile 8-13 were the hardest because my knees and calves were on FIRE! I seriously could not have done it without the Lord and without my friend Katy's dad. We ran together from mile 4 or 5 to the finish! He kept my pace going and just when I thought I was going to give up he passed me and said come on! I Dont think we could have done so well without each other. My goal was 2.5 hours and I met it, well with 58 seconds ha!! 

Sunday, I was so so sore. Like Icy Hot is my new perfume and walking down the stairs backwards is easier than forwards. Today I am a little better but still not 100%!

1.   The holiday season is     exciting! It's full of family, friends, love, thankfulness and the Lord!

2.   Snow makes me   excited because it doesn't snow in Louisiana!

3.  The best comfort food to eat when it's cold out is    soup or gumbo with crackers!

4. Winter is the best time for    cuddling and running   .

5.  I can hardly wait for    my first ever half marathon tomorrow :)

6.  When it comes to holiday gifts I prefer to    receive/give thoughtful gifts.

7.  If I were to rate my excitement about the holiday season on a scale from 1-10, I would say I am at about a    probably like a 7. I'd so much rather summer and spring! But I do love how happy most people are during the holidays!
